Relay

Teams shall only be entered by clubs which are affiliated to British Orienteering or another IOF affiliated National Federation.

Junior entry fees apply only to classes L, M, N, P, Q & S and the definition of a junior is as here.

SI cards can be borrowed for the relay.

Team Entry Information

Entering Teams

Team captains must enter the team name and class for each entry made. 

Changes to entries for the British Relay Championships (ie changes to team name or class) can be made up to April 15th 2012 using the “Edit my entry” facility on the SI website.

After April 16th changes to team entries can only be made by the Entries Secretary and a charge equivalent to the late entry surcharge will apply (£12 senior teams, £6 junior teams).

Declaration of Runners

Declaration of runners within each can be done at any time up to Thursday May 3rd by accessing “Edit my entry” on the SI website. Team declaration forms will also be available on Friday 4th (Warm Up day) and Saturday 5th (Long Distance day), in both cases from enquiries.

Team bibs will only be given out for declared teams. 

Cancellations

Via the Entries Secretary only.

For team cancellations up to April 15th , a refund of 90% will be given.

From April 16th to May 3rd a refund of 75% will be given.

No refunds will be given after May 3rd.

Should all or part of the event be cancelled, the Organisers reserve the right to retain all or part of the entry fee to cover committed costs.

Late Entries

After April 15th some entries may be accepted (subject to map availability), at a surcharge.

Further information

String Course

A string course for the youngest competitors will be provided free of charge at Helsington Barrows on Sunday 6th May. This will be adjacent to the Assembly area.

Programme and Results

Detailed programme information will be made available on this website closer to the event.

If entry has also been made in the Long Distance Championship and a printed copy of the race programme has been ordered through that entry, the relay details will be included.

Results can also be ordered via the entry system.

Parking, Transport and Travel

Competitors on Sunday 6th May will park on the old racecourse at Helsington Barrows (GR 503 917). The cost of parking is included in your entry fee

Dogs will be permitted on leads in the parking area only. Do not bring dogs to the assembly area.

Safety

Competitors are reminded that orienteering is an adventure sport and that they take part at their own risk. Competitors should bring waterproof jackets in case they are made compulsory. Whistles may also be compulsory.
